Our school is situated in the heart of the parish of Castleconnell/Ahane/ Montpelier in the picturesque village of Castleconnell on the banks of the majestic River Shannon.

Castleconnell N.S. is a single stream co- educational school which was built on the present site in the 1960’s and extended in the 1990’s. The school is characterised by a warm atmosphere where close partnership with parents and the wider community is seen as a vital ingredient in delivering a quality educational experience to our pupils. Our students experience all aspects of the curriculum in a balanced way and are encouraged to develop their individual talents. We are proud to have our fourth green flag for green travel. Our pupils engage in many projects in our school, including, Discover Primary Science, the school garden and community games sporting activities. To find out more about the activities in our school log on to castleconnellns blog.

The school has grown and developed in recent years and we now have over 210 pupils and a teaching staff of twelve. Our ancillary staff includes three special needs assistants, a secretary caretaker and housekeeper.

An important strength of the school is the supportive Parents Association and Board of Management. The school community values greatly the support of the wider community in Castleconnell.

We look forward to serving our local community for many years to come.
