The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association (ICMSA) is the state’s specialist dairy farmer’s organisation and was founded over 60 years to represent the interests of farm families at local, national and international levels. The Association’s Head Office is based in Limerick (on Groody Hill, very close to Ahane) and membership extends throughout every area of the country with delegates and officers being elected on an area and then county level. A National Council is elected in proportion to the number of member milk producers in a given county and from that figure (currently 92) a nine-man Administration Committee is elected to run the Association day-to-day. The Chairman of Castleconnell Area of Limerick ICMSA is Tim O’Brien, 086-0748022, while the Secretary is Tom Leahy, 351508. The Castleconnell Area’s member of the National Council is John Egan, 086-8226901.
